Most agencies will shop your renewal, send you a
spreadsheet, and move on. We don’t work that way.
We specialize in the markets and risk types that most
generalist agents avoid. That focus means better submissions,
better carrier relationships, and better outcomes for clients
who can’t afford a miss.
Deryk launched his commercial insurance career in 2016, shaped by years working inside his family’s construction business. That background gave him something most insurance advisors don’t have: a firsthand understanding of how commercial properties are built, financed, and operated before they ever need to be insured.
He’s spent nearly a decade specializing in habitational and real estate insurance, earning the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2020 and building a practice focused on program development, E&S market navigation, and long-term client relationships across Missouri and the Midwest.
Deryk works directly with property owners, real estate investors, and portfolio managers. You won’t get handed off.
Sam began his commercial insurance career in 2012 with an immediate focus on construction and contracting. Over the past decade, he’s built a reputation as a specialist advisor to trade contractors, general contractors, subcontractors, and developers across the region.
His deep knowledge of contractor exposures led him to develop a specialized energy construction program, addressing the specific risk profile of energy contractors and infrastructure projects where standard programs consistently fall short.
Sam holds the Registered Works Compensation Specialist (RWCS) designation and brings structured, coverage-first thinking to every account he touches.
Morelock Insurance is independently owned and operated out of Springfield, Missouri. We’re not a call center, a national platform, or a franchise location. Every client works directly with their advisor.
Our regional footprint spans nine states across the Midwest and South. We know the markets, the carriers writing in this territory, and the risk environment our clients are operating in.
Before coverage conversations start, we want to understand your properties, your contracts, your loss history, and your goals. The better the data going in, the better the program coming out.
A program is structured around your specific exposures and designed to hold up at renewal. We’re not shopping your account year to year. We’re managing it.
When the market shifts, when a carrier exits, when a claim happens, we’re already familiar with your account. That continuity matters.
These aren’t mission statement words. They’re the standards every client relationship is held to.
If you’re managing a real estate portfolio, running a contracting operation, or owning a commercial business in the Midwest, you need an advisor who
knows your risk type, knows the carriers still writing it, and stays accountable to your program over time. That’s what we do.
